For the artist, who grew up in a noodle-making environment, the process of kneading flour and water and transforming them into noodles has been a familiar part of everyday life since childhood. This process closely connects with the act of drawing — moving a pencil or pen across paper through the pressure of the hand.

In “SOFT_MEN,” drawings and sculptural works inspired by various motifs, including udon and ramen, are presented. Alongside works by Arata Fukuyama, the exhibition also features goods created by the creative team TAIRYOKU. Various forms of “lines” come together in the space, creating a landscape where they intersect.

福山 新 / 2002年生まれ。粘土を用いた立体作品とドローイングを中心に制作。動物をモチーフにした人形作品やドローイングを通して、平面と立体を横断しながら表現を展開している。

ARATA FUKUYAMA / Born in 2002, the artist primarily creates clay sculptures and drawings. Through animal-based figurative works and drawings, the artist explores a practice that moves between two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms.
