ニコラス・ハットフル(1984－)
1984年に東京生まれる。2011年にイギリスのロイヤル・アカデミー・スクールを卒業し、現在はロンドンを拠点に活動。セインズベリー・スカラーシップを獲得し、 2011年から2012年にローマのブリティッシュスクールで絵画と彫刻を研究。サーチギャラリー、ヘイワードツーリング、ローマ現代アート美術館（MACRO）、ジョルジュ・ エ・イザ・デ・キリコ財団など世界各国の美術館におけるグループ展に参加。FriezeやMousse、Financial Times、Life＆Artsなど数多くのメディアで彼の作品が取り上げられている。 主な収蔵先にはSaatchi Gallery,イギリス、The Hiscox,イギリス、Beth Rudin DeWoody Collection,アメリカなどがある。また、2018年にはローマの名門ブリティッシュスクールで行われたフェリシティ・パウエルの講義のための「The True Italian Pop Art」を発表し、古代および近年の遺物についての考察を、彼がイタリアで過ごした時間を綴った小説的な短編作品と結びつけた。 最近では、ハットフルによって書かれた記事がFriezeとMousseに掲載されている。収蔵先美術館にはサーチギャラリーなどがある。アーティスト活動だけでなく、記事の寄稿や批評など、その多才な活動に注目が集まっている。

Nicholas Hatfull(1984－)
Born in Tokyo in 1984. He graduated from the Royal Academy Schools in 2011 and now lives and works in London. He was the Sainsbury Scholar in Painting and Sculpture at the British School at Rome in 2011–12. He is represented in by Josh Lilley, and his been exhibited in solo or two-person presentations at Frieze New York, Dallas Art Fair and Expo Chicago, as well as solo exhibitions at the gallery in 2017 and 2015 (with Victor Willing). His work has been included in group exhibitions with Hayward Touring, at MACRO, Rome and the Fondazione Giorgio e Isa De Chirico, and reviewed in Frieze, Mousse and the Financial Times Life & Arts, amongst others. His works have been in museum collections such as Saatchi Gallery in London. He presented The True Italian Pop Art for the 2018 Felicity Powell Lecture at the British School at Rome, connecting reflections on artefacts ancient and recent with novelistic vignettes from his time in Italy. His writing has recently appeared in Mousse and Frieze.
