The "Daruma"—a familiar figure in Japan—is modeled after Bodhidharma, the founder of Zen Buddhism, and has long been cherished as a lucky charm. Its name originates from the ancient Sanskrit word "Dharma," which signifies "law" or "order."
Nyck³ uses the Daruma as a canvas to explore the cycles, patterns, and fundamental laws discovered throughout life, translating them into intricate, spiraling designs. Each piece begins with the creation of a plaster form, upon which the spiral patterns are applied by hand—one by one—using a masking technique. Consequently, every work is entirely unique; no two are alike.
This pop-up exhibition focuses on the "conflicts" that arise in our daily lives. Through the signature spiral patterns of Nyck³—which depict the swirling nature of disagreements between nations, individuals, social positions, emotions, and ideologies—the exhibition invites viewers to pause, reflect, and find space for their own interpretations over the course of 14 days.
Rather than relying on words, the work speaks directly to one’s intuition, encouraging an open, unconstrained perspective.
Does conflict lead to "progress," or does it result in "destruction"?
May this exhibition serve as an opportunity to reimagine conflict itself—not as something purely negative, but as a potentially positive force.

A "Spiral Daruma" artist who focuses on the differences in people’s individual "scales and granularities"—the unique frameworks through which they perceive the world. By exploring the question of why people think and act the way they do, the artist translates the insights gained into art, using a *daruma* doll as a canvas and incorporating a signature "spiral" motif.
The artist is scheduled to participate in World Art Dubai 2026, to be held in Dubai, UAE, from November 19 to 23, 2026.
