「服は、どこで完成するのか？」工芸と身体のあいだで、一着が生まれるまで

C JEANにとって、日本で初めてとなるトークイベントです。
台湾・台北を拠点に、ファッション、工芸、現代美術を横断するC JEAN。代官山 蔦屋書店で開催する展覧会「不完全の美／千年の扉 — SA・TA・NA・MA」の関連企画として、ノンフィクション作家の平野久美子氏を迎えます。
京都の臈纈染と台湾の漆芸との協働を手がかりに、平野氏とデザイナーのChun-Yuan Jeanが、伝統技術が現代の身体と出会うとき、何が受け継がれ、何が新しく生まれるのかを語ります。
工芸を単なる技法や物としてではなく、そこに蓄積された時間、暮らし、記憶、そして文化の往来を見つめる対話です。
C JEANは2026年9月、Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYOの公式プログラムにて2027年春夏（27SS）コレクションを発表します。

“Where Does a Garment Become Complete?”
From Craft and the Body to the Making of a Garment

This is C JEAN’s first talk event in Japan.
Based in Taipei, C JEAN works across fashion, craft, and contemporary art. Presented in conjunction with the exhibition “The Beauty of Imperfection / The Millennial Door — SA・TA・NA・MA” at Daikanyama Tsutaya Books, the talk welcomes nonfiction writer Kumiko Hirano.
Taking C JEAN’s collaborations with Kyoto rōketsu-zome textile artisans and Taiwanese lacquer artists as a starting point, Hirano and designer Chun-Yuan Jean will consider what is inherited—and what is newly created—when traditional craft encounters the contemporary body.
Together, they will look beyond craft as technique or object, toward the accumulated time, lived experience, memory, and cultural exchange held within it.
C JEAN will present its Spring/Summer 2027 (27SS) collection as part of the official Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO program in September 2026.

・Chun-Yuan Jean（簡君嫄／チュンユアン・ジーン）
C JEAN創設者・デザイナー・アーティスト


台湾出身のファッションデザイナー、アーティスト。ロンドン・カレッジ・オブ・ファッション（London College of Fashion）でウィメンズウェア・デザインの修士号を取得し、2019年にC JEANを設立。
ファッション、ファイバーアート、領域横断的な表現を通して、素材研究を起点とした創作活動を展開している。服を、身体、時間、文化的記憶が交差する媒体として捉え、伝統工芸が現代のデザイン言語によっていかに再解釈され、異なる文化や身体との関係の中で新たな意味を生み出すのかを探究している。
作品は台湾、日本、イギリス、イタリア、アメリカなどで発表・展示され、2019年と2023年にはフィレンツェ・ビエンナーレのファイバーアート部門で二度受賞。各国の工芸職人、アーティスト、文化機関との協働を通して、台湾の文化的経験を国際的な文脈へと展開し、地域、伝統、現代を横断する創造的な対話を築いている。
C JEANは台北ファッションウィークに参加したほか、台湾副総統の就任関連行事における衣装も手がけた。2026年9月には、Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYOの公式プログラムに初参加し、2027年春夏コレクションを発表する。

・Chun-Yuan Jean (C.J.)
Founder of C JEAN, Designer, and Artist
Chun-Yuan Jean is a Taiwanese fashion designer and artist. She earned a master’s degree in Womenswear Design from London College of Fashion and founded C JEAN in 2019.
Working across fashion, fibre art, and interdisciplinary practice, Jean develops her work through material research. She considers clothing a medium through which the body, time, and cultural memory intersect, exploring how traditional craft may be reinterpreted through contemporary design and generate new meaning in relation to different cultures and bodies.
Her work has been presented and exhibited in Taiwan, Japan, the United Kingdom, Italy, and the United States. She received awards in the Fibre Art category at the Florence Biennale in both 2019 and 2023. Through collaborations with craftspeople, artists, and cultural institutions, she brings Taiwan’s cultural experiences into an international context and creates dialogues across place, tradition, and the contemporary.
C JEAN has participated in Taipei Fashion Week and has also designed attire worn at events connected to the inauguration of Taiwan’s Vice President. In September 2026, C JEAN will make its official debut at Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO, presenting its Spring/Summer 2027 collection.

・平野久美子（ひらの・くみこ）
ノンフィクション作家

東京都出身。学習院大学仏文科卒業。出版社勤務を経て文筆活動へ。豊富な取材経験をもとに、アジアの歴史や文化、日本との関係を多角的に描いてきた。
『淡淡有情』（小学館ノンフィクション大賞）、『テレサ・テンが見た夢』、『水の奇跡を呼んだ男』（日本農村土木学会著作賞）、『牡丹社事件 マブイの行方』、『香港食べもの史』など著書多数。
2025年刊行の『台湾クラフトへの旅』（小学館）では、各地の工房、職人、クリエイターを訪ね、土地の歴史と多様な文化から生まれたものづくりを紹介。工芸を、人々の暮らし、土地の記憶、文化の交流、そして現代へ受け継がれる創造の営みとして見つめる。
日本文藝家協会会員。

・Kumiko Hirano
Nonfiction Writer
Born in Tokyo, Hirano graduated from the Department of French Literature at Gakushuin University. After working in publishing, she began her writing career. Drawing on extensive field research, she has explored the histories and cultures of Asia and their relationships with Japan from multiple perspectives.
Her many books include Tantan Yūjō, winner of the Shogakukan Nonfiction Grand Prize; The Dream Teresa Teng Saw; The Man Who Called Forth the Miracle of Water, winner of the Japan Society of Rural Civil Engineering Book Award; The Mudan Incident: Whereabouts of the Mabui; and A History of Hong Kong Food.
In Taiwan Kurafuto e no Tabi (A Journey Through Taiwanese Craft), published by Shogakukan in 2025, Hirano visits workshops, artisans, and creators across Taiwan, introducing forms of making born from the history and diverse cultures of each place. She approaches craft through people’s everyday lives, memories of place, cultural exchange, and the continuing creative practices carried into the present.
Hirano is a member of the Japan Writers’ Association, President of the Association Supporting Taiwan’s World Heritage Registration, and an adviser to the Miyakojima International Exchange Association.
